Thanksgiving Thought

Countless residents of this community are feeling a collective heavy heart this Thanksgiving morning after a car-train tragedy yesterday took the life of a vibrant and beloved young woman who has grown up here.

On this day when we all feast and celebrate our own blessings, no doubt many of us will be mixing in a bit of prayer, remembrance and love aimed toward Kayle Porter's family and to her boyfriend's family, the Gates,  who are also mourning her loss.

May we give thanks for each precious moment of life and for those around us who mean so much.

Blessings to all.

And, prayers to the Porter and Gates families.  May the love from this caring community sustain and strengthen you through this sad time.
