Ireland Odyssey II, Continued

Some feral cats have the good life at Inch Strand on the Dingle Peninsula

Fenn and Cody brought our Border Collie sightings in Ireland to No. 13 and 14. By day's end, the count shot up to 18 Borders.

Wind blows hard here.

This is the day the Lord has made:  let us rejoice and be glad.  Seems to fit for just about every day we’ve been in Ireland, especially yesterday, and, no blarney intended---definitely today:  the 37th birthday of our beloved son Willie aka “Dr.” William E. Love III.

What a celebration he shall have as we continue our journey through this enchanted and beautiful land, filled with friendly and welcoming people.

With its combination of natural beauty and friendly, warm people, I’d say Ireland has the perfect formula for enjoying life on this Earth.

We met more fun folks along the road yesterday, and when Bill was talking to one---a clerk in a store---he responded to the clerk’s question of “How are you enjoying your holiday?”

“I’m liking it a lot,” Bill told him, “except for one problem.”

The clerk looked puzzled and asked,” What’s that?”

“I have to sleep at night, and that means I can’t see more of this,” Bill told him.

Yes, we’re ready to sleep at night because we keep ourselves fully engaged during the days, climbing to mountain tops, beach combing, strolling around castle grounds, investigating prehistoric  homes made of another abundance in Ireland—rocks.

And, of course, we keep up the Border Collie nose count:  up to 18 at this point. There ARE enough sheep to count if we happened to have trouble sleeping.

Our focus yesterday was the Dingle Peninsula, and talk of “how to move to Ireland” came up in conversation as we drove through increasingly added bucolic beauty and breath-taking vistas.

A seafood lunch at Inch Strand and a seafood dinner in Dingle kept Bill impressed with Irish culinary offerings.  He’s also into visting woolen stores.

I think he likes Ireland, and I know the rest of us are just as enamored.

Today is fishing day and hang loose day for some of us.  We may take a couple of short jaunts out of Killarney, but for now, we’re enjoying yet another day with blue skies and the promise of rejoicing and beging glad we’re here to celebrate Willie’s big day.

Enjoy the photos.
