Monday Miscellany

Annie just pulled out of the driveway, headed back home to Seattle.  Soon Debbie will probably stop by with the pups on her way to work.

Willie is in Boise, starting a PTE (Professional Technical Education) workshop. Bill's getting ready to go to his forestry duties.

A full weekend of fun, dining out, watching several World Cup Soccer matches and great family time has ended.

Now, we're back to Monday reality.

Yesterday we topped off Father's Day/Anniversary celebration with dinner at Hope's Sweet Lou's.

Three consecutive nights of going out to dinner---I said to Bill, "Why ruin a good weekend?"  Plus, I didn't want to cook.

Seemed everyone else agreed, so we had another nice dinner and some more good visiting.  And, of course, the evening was topped off by a geocache find really close to the restaurant.

On Saturday, when Debbie and I were driving out to Round Lake to meet Bill and Annie, we saw the little one in the top photo in the Wood's woods along Selle Road.

My new lens went into action from a distance without much disturbance, although Mom did do a little stomping. I think this baby was just hours old because it hadn't quite figured out how to stay upright.

We have had does with big bellies passing through our woods and fields for the past few weeks, so it wouldn't surprise me to see a few babies right here on the place over the next few weeks. If nothing else, we'll see their protective mothers.

The aggressive mom, which actually chased Annie in the 4-wheeler and took after Kea, seems to have found greener pastures because we haven't endured her wrath for a couple of years.

The week ahead is highlighted by the POAC Annual Artwalk, which begins this Friday and involves four family members with Debbie involved in a professional aspect and Barbara, Willie and my sister-in-law Joyce as exhibitors.

They'll be showing their creative works at the POAC gallery, which will feature the talents of teachers with a gallery exhibition among the many artwalk stops around town.

So, the summer fun should continue, along with the usual yard and garden stuff.

I sure enjoyed the weekend with the kids. Bill and thank our children for the family celebrations.

Happy Monday, and good luck to the USA team in this afternoon's match against Ghana.
