It's a no-paper day in the Selle Valley this morning. While I was on my morning walk, Eva Whitehead stopped and told me to call and let the paper people know.
So, always the dutiful student, I honored my high school geometry teacher's wishes and, upon arriving home, waded through the menu drill at the Spokesman-Review, only to be told that "redelivery would not be possible at this time, press 1 to receive credit."
Since there was no delivery in the first place, I'm still wondering how redelivery works, but oh well. We'll live, and maybe whatever woes the deliverer had this morning, with both the Daily Bee and the Spokesman, will get resolved and we can read newspapers later.
No paper meant a longer walk this morning, so no real loss for me. I listened to very vociferous crows and got the cautious eye from most of Taylor's cows, both going and coming.
Along the way, which this morning involved both Selle and South Center Valley Roads, I noticed that daisies are coming on strong for their summer reign.
Meanwhile, off in Portugal, Annie said she was a bit tired today because she went geocaching with the Portugese until 3 this morning. One of the events was "night" geocaching, so I'm sure that was an interesting experience.
During the days she's been snapping some nice photos. I, of course, picked out the horses in Lisbon to post on my blog this morning.
You'll also notice a horse photo of Laurie riding Lefty in our woods. After watching the build-up to the Triple Crown letdown yesterday, I came home from my sisters' house and got both horses geared up for an evening ride.
Laurie and I had a great time going through our woods and then off to Forest Siding Road.
Along our way, we visited with each other and with a couple of other folks. It was a perfect evening with no real fly annoyances and a slight breeze for comfortable temps.
The horses did well, and I was thrilled. Any time I can get someone to ride with me, I enjoy the experience all the more.
Today Willie and Debbie will get the pickup and do some major moves, with some of their bigger items. If all goes well, they'll spend their first night at their new home over in Colburn.
Summer days continue to be close to perfect, so we'll just keep enjoying every aspect possible. By the way, Bill fished for free in Washington yesterday, but the fish went on strike. He caught one fish all day long and that was right after he arrived.
It was pretty, though, he said.
Off to the gardens to do some watering. Happy Sunday.
