Out and About

Friends visit at a graduation party yesterday afternoon for my neighbor Adam.  That would be a family "outlaw" Jim Thompson, my classmate Gary Finney, and, I believe, one of the Oliver clan who are related to the Finneys.

Adam graduated from Sandpoint High School Saturday afternoon, and he hadn't had much sleep, thanks to the grad party, but he was doing fine for his own graduation party.  I've watched Adam grow up over the past eight years of our living out here in Selle.  He's a great kid, always polite and a hard worker.  Adam is headed to the University of Idaho this fall.

Though no photos, I also stopped off at Daniel's house.  He's another 2014 grad.

His mom Jeralyn is one of my most favorite students and now a wonderful mentor to high school students.

Daniel is a John Deere buff, a true farmer and a future enrollee at Lewis and Clark State College where he'll take up diesel mechanics.  We also had a nice visit.

Rex, second to the left, is Adam's dad and Gary's son.

Yesterday I visited with lots of Finneys from several branches of the family and enjoyed the gathering.

Another photo with a classmate:  my neighbor Gary Finney.  He's 11 days younger than I, but I have more hair.

Gary calls my blog the "gossip column."  That's probably cuz he appears on it from time to time.

Only daisy of its kind in the southwest flower bed, so I had to take its picture this morning.

While I attended to delivering some graduation gifts yesterday, Bill worked on his wood pile.

What do you think Bill will find on the game camera shots from overnight?

This camera was a present to me.  He calls it MY camera, but he really wanted a birthday present for himself.

He reported that the bottom half of Lefty and Laurie appeared in Saturday night's offerings.

No deer.

I was pretty excited about the potential my lupine show along Love Canal this year, but last week's hail storm did a number on the patch.

It's pretty but not quite as spectacular as it could have been.

First bloom from the wild rose in the north lawn, which keeps doubling in size every year.

The most fragrant of roses.  Many buds are breaking open in the big flower beds.

More of Annie's geocaching adventures with the Mega Event group in Portugal.

All that scenery.  All that culture.  All those nice people from around the world with common interests.

It's a tough job for her sometimes, but she seems to manage to meet the challenges.

Ronnie and I used to see Adam when he was a little boy waiting for the school bus when we went on our walks. He was so shy! I can't believe he is all grown up!! I can't believe you have lived out here 8 years, where does the time go?
