Weekend Memories and Yellow Buses

Yup, I'll be sharing the road with two yellow buses during the rest of the school year.  School Days, 2014-15 has begun.  Good luck to all associated with our school district, students, staff, administrators, and, yes, bus drivers!

In the "what a weekend it was category," one highlight occurred Sunday when Laura, Maureen and their kids came to the Lovestead for a visit at almost the same time that Willie, Debbie and Laura aka Swiss Miss were visiting with Laura and Maureen's folks, Mike and Mary, in DuPont, Washington,

From all reports, the exchange worked well in both venues.

At the Lovestead, we enjoyed a leisurely visit, including a walk to the Lodgepole aka God Tree for re-induction of the triplets (happens every year or so) and a new inductee, Rory, son of Maureen.

Lily and Lefty also enjoyed the visit with lots of tender loving attention.

Meanwhile, yesterday Debbie invited me to join Laura and her on a trip up to Fall Fest at Schweitzer.  I decided the planned lawn mowing marathon for the afternoon could go, and I was glad.

We enjoyed a great afternoon on the mountain, taking pictures and watching the oodles and oodles of people, doing everything people do at Fall Fest---walking their dogs, visiting, rockin' to the music, sipping some micro brews and just plain enjoying the scenery and the fun of a very eclectic gathering.

I'm not the kind who would spend money to go to a rock concert, but I must admit that watching and listening to Hell's Belles from Seattle was both invigorating and highly entertaining.  They put on a great show with energy beyond belief.

Lots of locals were up on the mountain yesterday, many former students, so, to say the least, I had a great time.

Laura had fun with the camera, and this was one of my favorites from her collection of photos.

Another Laura Schmid shot with Debbie's friends from Newport.
