Wet, Green and Fun

Another St. Patrick's Day has passed as has another rain storm.  Birds are chirping, clouds are vanishing.  Spring is definitely in the air.

My only complaint:  a soggy barnyard.  Nonetheless, a soggy barnyard means that surrounding grass is turning green.

On the other hand, green grass just outside Lily's enclosure means that she'll have to begin her spring contortionist training----how far down on the ground can you twist the front of your body without your back end falling into the mud.

That's for Lily to work out.  The grass will continue to turn greener,  and I'm hoping that the barnyard will dry up again.

And, if the surface dries, maybe sweet little Foster won't need all those towel-offs every time he enters the house.

In other news, Bill's stress ended last night at the Presbyterian Church St. Patrick's dinner.
He gets a little worked up when he's gonna put on a program, especially when he has to use audio visual/techie stuff, but everyting worked out okay as he showed portions of Annie's slide show of Ireland put to music.

I must add that his stress was mixed with a whole lot of excitement about the opportunity to share his Ireland experience last year.  The audience approved, and some even said they'd like to see the whole slide show sometime.

Presentations had time limits on them because of cake raffles, poetry recitations and even hula hoop practice spurred on by emcee Wesley Pietsch Dustman.

It was fun to see her dad Gary who played a vital role in Bill and my meeting 42 years ago. Gary was busy with his camera---definitely a Pietsch family tradition.

And, I enjoyed visits with a couple of happy retirees---Tim Cochran (up there with Wes' husband Jim) and Susie Haskins.  Pastor Andy welcomed everyone with a little information about St. Patrick and, of course, a prayer.

It was a fun gathering, but I did duck out early to get home and watch the BYU-Ol' Miss game.  When I walked in the door BYU led by 17, but as the announcers said, it was a game of two half's---not so good for the Cougars in the second half as Ol' Miss put on the steam and pulled out a victory.

Tonight we'll be watching and hoping for Boise State to make it into the tournament.

Tomorrow we'll be watching Gonzaga practice for their big game vs North Dakota State on Friday.  Of course, I'll be there with my camera and enjoying watching Willie watch what he loves best.

Lots going on today, including coffee with a friend, so that's all folks!  Have a great Wednesday.
