Lily knows the Pro rodeo is in town. I think she was auditioning for a spot on the bucking string this morning.
Twas Lily's longest barnyard bucking performance ever.
She reared, she raced around the pen, she spun 360s, she went airborne with all fours several times.

After her ten-minute spectacular, she finally came to the gate, stood breathing hard, nostrils flaring but ready to head to pasture.
When I told Bill about her bucking spree, he suggested that it must be the fall-like air.
Yup, happily, it was a three-layer day when I went out to watch the Lovestead Lily Rodeo.
I'm sure Lily's energy has been sapped as much as mine over the summer, and to wake up to a touch of fall in the air rejuvenates all that lost energy.
Don't tell anyone, but Lily's staying home. She's not going off with any bucking string, although I'm sure she'd be a colorful star with a bronc rider aboard.
The BUSYness continues around here, and it's bound to speed up for the next few days. Yesterday I happily sent off about 150 letters to my classmates.
With our reunion just over a month away, it was time to send out the schedule and try to lure a few more SHS 1965 grads to the party. Looks like we're gonna have a great turn-out, about 90 grads and spouse estimated now, but several regulars have not checked in. So, I think that number will grow.
I was glad to hand over those envelopes to the folks at Kootenai Post Office, and I'm hoping someone doesn't find some big blooper in the letter. Had the help of three other classmates in proofreading, so fingers crossed.
Today, besides Zap Time at Sally's beauty parlor, I'll be putting the finishing touches on my photos for the fair. The selection includes a dozen. I can enter seven, so there's decision-making to do.
Each entry has to be identified and carefully entered into the right division, class, lot and all that stuff. Fair entering takes place Sunday afternoon.
In between, there's the Celebrate Life walk-run tomorrow morning. I usually take my bike so I can pedal on over to the beach where Debbie and her team have a busy weekend ahead with the annual POAC Arts and Crafts Festival.
We've been drafted to help with takedown on Sunday, so that will signal a brief lull in the activity before a busy week with fair activities begins. Still haven't decided if I'm gonna take posies and produce for competition in the fair.
I do have some nice marigolds with great big blossoms in the jungle garden. The rest of the flowers are okay but not competition quality. Other than that, there's not much out there that makes we want to take the time.
Maybe those plums!
Bill and I watched the Republican debate last night. I did fall asleep at the end, but, overall, I thought the questions were good, and, for the most part, the candidates held their own.
It should be both interesting and frustrating when the race starts heating up in both parties for the next year. Which candidates will rise to the top? That is the question, and then how much regurgitation ad nauseum will we have to digest?
I liked hearing a few candidates talk about working together instead of continuing the nasty political stand-offs we've witnessed for so many years---what a novel idea!

For now, the Presidential race is still somewhat fresh and definitely filled with some drama.
More and more talk about college football and pro football and high school athletics----yup, August is moving along with welcome cooler air. Willie has already put in a day at school with his staff, photographing the fall athletes for their student body cards.
Barbara is off at Gonzaga with her yearbook students for the annual summer workshop. She'll be finishing that up today and then heading to meet Laurie, Kevin and his granddaughters at a horse show in Coeur d'Alene.
For all of us----lots to do, lots to see, and nice to have the cooler weather in which to get 'er done. Right, Lily???
Happy Friday.
