Saturday Slightly Tired

Seventeen----count ‘em----seventeen people squeezed into my sisters’ rather small living room last night to watch an epic.

That group included six siblings of the Brown-Tibbs clan.

It was truly amazing how all those bodies found a perch and stuck with it for three hours---except for occasional pilgrimages to the kitchen to load up on goodies.

When the epic ZAGS vs. Gators game ended, the place was pretty much cleared out within five minutes.

I think everyone wanted to find the nearest bed to unwind and rest after the double overtime game where the losing team (darn, our ZAGS) scored 105 points.

ZAGS fans, the world around---if they were still up---got their money’s worth with this match-up.

Only thing wrong-----the final score.

Still, I think it would take the most extreme hard-core armchair cynic to fault the ZAGS in their efforts against another talented team.

Anyway, I’m dragging this morning, and I’m sure I’m not alone.

We have filled up our Thanksgiving holiday weekend with get-togethers and a brief outdoor getaway yesterday afternoon.

Part of the family piled into cars, armed with cameras and headed for Sagle Road, where we were bound for Gamblin Lake.

It was the perfect outing for this segment of the family, as we knew the schedule dictated getting home by chore time followed by some heavy-duty post-Thanksgiving day grazing where eventually all 17 participated.

The weather was agreeable, and the place abounds with outdoor enjoyment, whether it’s in the freshly washed moss-covered woods or out in the open along the lake shore where ducks were landing and taking off amidst the cattails.

Later, after we left the Gamblin Lake BLM refuge, one vehicle filled with family stopped along the roadside to take pictures of a rustic farm, while the other car took a slight detour down Camp Bay Road where the deer were out grazing and where more rustic roadside structures were begging to be photographed.

Yesterday turned out to be one of those family days for the books, packed with oodles of wonderful memories, where we even did a collective shout-out on for a “Hi, Annie” cell-phone video which went to the South Island of New Zealand.

Soon thereafter, Annie responded with a short clip showing Kelsi and her, both sporting big smiles in the Kiwi sunshine.

Some great memories, and it’s looking like a great day ahead, but I do think I need an energy bar.

Happy Saturday.  Enjoy the photos.
