Just "Seens" in the Desert

There is much to see in Joshua Tree National Park.

We barely scratched the surface yesterday, spending the better part of the day taking short hikes to a few of the popular park attractions, including an old ranch tucked away in the midst of boulder-filled mountains.

In each setting we met and enjoyed short visits with a lot of folks who looked a lot like us---retired, outdoors-oriented and many escaping the snow.

Occasionally, we had to add some layers of clothing; at other times we shed those layers. The sun shines, but the wind blows and sometimes bitterly so.

We have one more day to explore, and we know that there will still be more to see in this fascinating park which could give Ireland a run for its money on the rock inventory.

Great day in the desert and a great topper-offer as came back to the motel and watched the ZAGS pull of a hard-fought but convincing win over a persistent Loyola Marymount.

Now, we hope to be near a TV tomorrow night (maybe in Seattle airport) when they play Game No. 2 in their quest to take the WCC tournament championship.

The sun is shining this morning and after a morning visit with a dear friend, we'll be off for more exploring.

Again, thank you, Annie.  Good therapy!
