CB Unplugged

Okay, so this is a CB day.  The little guy, who's growing quickly, is grazing in a different pasture this morning.

To let him get acquainted, I took him there and let him loose.  It took about five minutes, long enough for me to go get my camera, for him to realize he was ALL alone in that tall grass.

By the time I came back down the lane, the CB show had begun, which was really nice for snapping photos.

He raced around----and around.

He whinnied toward Lily and Lefty, who were in the barnyard.  He reared and bucked and stood like a sculptured statue.

The CB show lasted about ten minutes, long enough for him to work up a sweat and feel the need, when I took him to the barnyard to roll off that sweaty feeling in some nice dry dust.

And, so this morning, when I took him to Pasture No. 2, the setting was old news with that tall, yummy grass taking precedent.

It was fun to see CB perform yesterday, and pretty amazing to see how much he's grown.  He's almost as tall as Lefty, but there's a lot of filling out and more refinement in body parts to come.

The little guy can look pretty awkward at times, as his body seemingly grows in segments.  That's how it is with horses during their first year.

Over their first few years, they go from really really cute as babies to awkward and sometimes disconnected as adolescents and eventually maturing in to how they're gonna look the rest of their lives.

If CB grows up right, he should might be kinda pretty.

And, yes, he is now, and his show in Pasture No. 2 yesterday gave me the ultimate satisfaction as one who's always admired pretty horses showing off.

Happy Tuesday.  Hope you enjoy the CB show.
