" . . . down on the farm?" Seeing Paree"

Bill and I will be seeing this view in a couple of weeks.

Annie saw it this morning.

It's Ireland.

Unfortunately, Annie did not get to stay once she touched down on her Aer Lingus flight in Dublin.

She was soon on to another destination:  Paris.

It's partially a working trip with a Geocoinfest in France and a drive to Germany for other business.

She'll also return to Paris and do her usual day-to-day work from the City of Light for a couple of days before returning to Seattle.

Annie was not the only Sandpoint High School grad on that overnight flight from Seattle to Dublin.

Thanks to Facebook, all involved, including mommies, learned that Errin Bair, SHS Class of 1993 and a staff member at Farragut State Park, was also headed to Dublin with her hubby.

The local grads met up before boarding, and, of course, the moms, Marie and Marianne, were thrilled.  Errin and her hubby are traveling to Scotland where they were married last year and will spend three weeks this year.

Unlike Annie, Errin got to spend some time in Dublin today, and she's already visited the Leprechaun Museum.

It's always nice and fun to see those "small world" events.

This morning while Annie was going through security in Dublin, my friend Pam was going through security at Spokane Airport.  She'll be going to Kansas City for a few days before returning to Sandpoint.

Before she left yesterday, we both agreed that we needed to take an the obligatory, usually rather funky photo to remind us of this visit.

I set up my camera and tripod and pondered on an idea while she showered upstairs.  The idea came together by the time she returned downstairs.

We headed out to the barn where I grabbed the pitchfork, figuring our portrait this time (WITH NO NOSE TAPING) would be a take-off on American Gothic.

"But those people aren't wearing hats," Pam said.  We were each wearing a Western hat.

"We don't have to follow ALL the rules," I said. "It's just the general theme."

Well, it turned out that no pitchfork appeared in any picture.  I attribute that to the fact that our very friendly dogs kept meandering too close for comfort to my tripod with camera.

So, I took time out to lock Liam in the box stall and told Kiwi to stay away from the tripod.  Well, she's a bit hard of hearing and almost immediately came dangerously close to tipping the whole ensemble over.

I spent a little time framing the photo as Pam performed a dance in the aisle way of the barn.

After setting up the time release option to allow for ten photos, I ran to my spot in the photo. All went well for two photos; then everything stopped abruptly.

My camera battery had run out of juice.  We had no time to wait for it to charge, so Pam pulled out her cell phone.  We were almost wetting our pants and definitely in tears of laughter by the time our selfie shoot had ended.

So, below are the best results----one of the two from my camera and the other from Pam's cell phone.  Readers can decide on their favorites.

For two "golden" gals who've taught together, taped noses together and exchanged the same tin with the same Christmas cookies off and on for more than 25 years, I'm thinking we outdid ourselves yesterday.

Silly girls, anywho!

Guess that's enough for today.  Have a wonderful Thursday.
