Lovin' Liam

We're going to be off on one of the Aran Island West of Ireland when our Liam turns 3.

I caught some nice shots of him racing his huge circles around the fields yesterday.

So, I'll use today to wish him an early birthday and to express HOW MUCH WE LOVE THIS DOG.

Can you hear me shouting?

We have gone through so much with Liam since he was a mere pup.

To say we've earned our medals through chewed up furniture, et. al., holes dug to China and just plain near heart-attacks with his early lack of understandings about boundaries----twould be an understatement.

Liam is coming of age, though, and we both almost tear up while talking about his daily activities.

These days, Liam does not just nap on the bed in the afternoons.  He unmakes the bed and crawls in.

Liam herds horses, lawnmowers, 4-wheelers and hoses, sometimes more enthusiastically than needed.

For the most part, however, Liam has decided he's a "companion dog," as Bill likes to call it.

This handsome and proud Border Collie accompanies both of us on our chores around the place, and once we get into a project, he'll go lie down and wait until we head on to the next venue.

We love our Liam.  Oh yes, we do, and, Liam, on your birthday, we will be missing you.  SO much.

So, today, here's a shout-out and a "Happy Birthday" to one fine dog.

Happy Thursday to all.
