Fair: Heating Up and HOT

Well, the Bonner County Fair officially begins today.

That means parking fees, so have your cash on hand.

And, it's gonna be HOT.

Ribbons and banners and medals are being awarded to top exhibits in open class and in the 4-H department.

Food booths started opening yesterday and should be in full operation today.

By today, all exhibits for the fair should be in place.

Beef and dairy cattle came in yesterday.

Early this morning fat steers were weighed.

Today's schedule includes some fitting and showing and competitive livestock quality classes.

During my time at the fair yesterday, I met the owner of a new local food truck and the director of a new school concept for Sandpoint.

Dr. Jessica Drexel, who recently moved here from Waco, Tex., has set up a outdoor booth near the indoor arena to introduce potential students and parents to concepts associated with the Bonner Classical Academy, set to open in the fall of 2023.

I also met Janice Ringer, owner of Truck 'N Delicious, a food truck offering sandwiches and desserts.  You'll see the menu below.

Janice formerly worked in law enforcement.  She told me the food truck, which is dedicated to her late father, has already seen great local success.

Janice also raises pigs at her home in Wrenco.

As usual, there's plenty to see, lots of activities, plenty of eating choices and always wonderful visiting at the fair.

Enjoy the photos.

Happy Wednesday, and do stay cool.
