Note: For the last two mornings, I have published my blog only to have parts of it disappear. I have no idea what is causing this.
Yesterday I rewrote most of the text after several segments disappeared.
I thought that maybe I had not saved the text.
That is not the case, as this morning, I saved every time only to have portions disappear after the blog was published.
The mysterious aspect of this is that I scrolled through the published version, which was complete.
A few minutes later, some of the material had disappeared.
So, bear with me, as I try to figure out what the problem is. For now, I'll just leave today's post as is because spending the time to redo it with the possibility that some items might disappear is not worth the effort.
So, there's an explanation. We'll see what happens tomorrow. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
For your reassurance, I'm not yet losing my mind. It's some unknown technical glitch. If an Internet guru can tell me why this is suddenly happening, I'd appreciate it.
They say that we're supposed to get some snow. We'll see in the next few days how accurate the weather prognosticators are.
For now, I did take a cue from my friend Harvey and brought out the rake yesterday. It had been put away for the winter.
Since my last of the multitude of leaf pickups in November, a few more leaves have fallen.
So, it seemed like a nice afternoon to rake and pick some up. The dogs helped me.
I was pretty amazed when I said to Bridie that now I was going to haul the leaves to the woods. She immediately turned around and ran ahead of me to the woods. She knows the drill or understands pretty much every word I say.
Earlier in the day, I spent a few minutes at The Flower Farm visiting with owners Pam and John.
They were transplanting baby plants which had come from the seeds they planted in November.
Pam showed me the January look of their popular hanging baskets. Even in January, a few blossoms were adding some color.
Mark April 1 on your calendar if you're local. That's when The Flower Farm will open and those baskets will be gorgeous.
It's Game Day.
Seems like this season the ZAGS and the Sandpoint Bulldogs play a lot of games at the same time.
Tonight the ZAGS play the first game on their West Coast Conference schedule.
They'll take on the Waves of Pepperdine in the Spokane Arena. I happen to know someone who will be going.
Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
The game will be broadcast on KHQ-ROOT.
GO, ZAGS!
🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
Meanwhile, Willie's SHS girls varsity squad will face a TOUGH Lake City tonight at Les Rogers Gym.
The 12-2 Sandpoint Bulldogs tip-off against Lake City at 6 p.m.
Lake City (13-1) defeated the Bulldogs in an earlier contest on their home floor.
Seems appropriate that the Bulldogs should return the favor in their home gym.
Come out tonight and cheer them on.
Thursday Throwbacks . . . .from the photo library.
A while back during winters with plenty of snow, Matt Smart (left in picture below) introduced ski joring to the Sandpoint area.
Basically, riders on horses pull skiers over obstacles.
The photos represent practices and actual events at Western Pleasure Guest Ranch and the Bonner County Fairgrounds.
Below: a few of these faces may be familiar to locals, even 30-plus years after the fact.
Is there anyone who can name them all: graduates of Sandpoint High.
