Drivin' with Dogs

We decided at the last minute to caravan with Willie and Debbie on a road trip.

With horses being boarded at Roxane's and two nice sisters and some kind neighbors who said they'd watch over our place, the time was right.

Our doggies are thrilled.

This morning we are 509.9 miles from Sandpoint High School where we met Willie yesterday afternoon.

Off we went on down the road.

In our day of driving, which lasted until midnight, we went from brilliant, beautiful sunshine to thick fog and snow and finally rain.

Happily, all went without incident, and we are proud of our pups.  They're phenomenal and happy travelers.

We haven't told Foster yet, but he's going to get to see his most favorite person on Earth.

Annie will meet up with us later today, and we'll enjoy some fun family time on neutral ground.

Of course, there will be the usual adventures, so stay tuned.  I might capture some fun pictures for tomorrow's post.

In the meantime, deepfelt thanks to my sisters and the wonderful neighbors who are helping make this possible.

We Love's are blessed.

Are we there yet?

We stopped at our share of rest stops, and, as you can see, we created new foot prints in fresh snow.

We have discovered that Miss Bridie, a relative novice at road trips, has some inhibitions about pottying while on enroute.

Bill walked her and walked her and walked her at every rest stop (about four or five).

Not once did she take time from sniffing to go No. 1 or No. 2.  When we finally arrived at our accommodations and she went to the fenced-in yard, the flood gates opened.

She did the same last week when we took her to Spokane.

She's definitely a dog with a tough bladder.

I'd like to know her secret.

Bill and I had our first experience at Country Mercantile yesterday.  Willie and Debbie have stopped there before.  Great culinary gifts and whoppin' big tasty sandwiches.

The ice cream was good too.

Yes, Foster, we're there.
