It's Super Sunday and the second full day of life for a little Hereford calf on Jack and Colleen Filipowski's farm.
This is the first calf born in Jack's 2024 crop.
Annie and I dropped by yesterday to take some pictures.
And, yes, Colleen, it's a cutie.
Lots of cute stuff this week with the addition of Puppy No. 2 at my sisters' home in Colburn.
From the action with toys in their play pen that I watched yesterday, little Callie and Remi would make perfect candidates for today's Puppy Bowl.
They're busy little cuties.
This Super Sunday is the Day After a few significant events.
As I stood by the sliding glass door yesterday, I saw two robins flying in almost as a team. One sat on the garden fence, while the other landed on a limb in the oak tree.
Always an exhilarating feeling to spot the first robin of the year.
It's also the Day After one of the best Gonzaga games and victories we've seen in a long time.
If there were any doubts about our ZAGS, they were dismissed, at least until the next time the perennial and nauseating ZAG cynics want to throw them and their coaching staff under the bus.
What a beautiful game they played on Kentucky's home court.
What we saw yesterday illustrated what we have so loved about Gonzaga basketball. They were at their best.
Congratulations, ZAGS!
Oh, by the way, the game was pretty tense at the end, so Annie gave me some ZAGS shades to wear for good luck.
It seemed to work!
The shades weren't so helpful, however, at last night's Sandpoint-Lakeland game.
The Hawks defeated the Bulldogs and earned a trip to state.
It was a sad way to end a season, but, in my mind, and I believe in many others, this 2023-24 squad definitely created a "shining season."
Their record of 19-5 alone is beyond impressive. Much of it was earned after losing one of their star seniors due to a knee injury.
The Bulldogs, guided by their wonderful coaching staff, entertained and inspired throughout the season.
Sadly, the ending did not come as scripted, but the memories of watching their grace, talent, teamwork and never-ending tenacity clear up to the final final buzzer will always keep us inspired.
Great job, Bulldog varsity. You brought abundant joy to so many throughout the season with your amazing moments on the court.
We are proud of you and always will be.
Thanks for a great season!

Happy Super Sunday to all.
