My mother, the maternal figure of my life who did her best to mold me.
She kinda failed at the wearing-frilly-dresses part.
Nonetheless, she left me with so many her amazing examples to follow.
I especially appreciate that her molding included values, especially a clear difference between right and wrong; a healthy sense of humor, setting the bar high in all you do, pride in achieving, respecting and caring for others and an eternal zest for life.
Even in her final days, my mother was still working to "get better."
Most importantly, she encouraged independent thinking, following our individual dreams and embracing all the good that the world had to offer us.
I always wanted to be as talented and smart as my mother.
Still working on that, with her fierce, indomitable spirit encouraging me along the way.
I miss her.
I think of her today and every day.
To all mothers and all maternal figures on this earth, may you experience a sense of joy and satisfaction today for the nurturing, guidance, care and example you have provided to other earthly beings.
Happy Mother's Day.
