"Didya wear a blue shirt and come up close to Noah Lyles?
If so, we saw you."
This is a text I sent to Chris Pietsch immediately after watching sprinter Noah Lyles win the 100-meter dash during last night's NBC Olympic track trials.
Within two minutes, the photo below arrived.
Later, the photo of Noah Lyles, taken by Sandpoint native Chris Pietsch.
What a thrill to watch a former student in action with his camera on one of the biggest stages in sports!
As Bill said, "Eight days and 50 years ago, Chris was taking our wedding pictures."
It was his first professional photo gig.
Are we proud?
You bet!
Chris, you lead an amazing life and provide phenomenal images for the world to see, and your old yearbook teacher thinks that's pretty special.
Chris is an award-winning photographer for the The Register-Guard in Eugene where the trials were held.

A Sunday, semi touristy drive took Bill and me to the east side of Priest Lake yesterday.
It was semi-touristy because we looked at souvenirs and each bought a Drumstick at the Indian Creek Campground store, but we were not on vacation.
Our "vacation" tends to last 365 days a year these days.
The campground was well populated with peeps, dogs, bikes, tents and 4-wheelers.
We also strolled among a few tourists enjoying some leisure time in Coolin.
We noticed that we're not too different from tourists cuz our cute dogs come with us too.
Bridie even happily stood at the "pooch post" just outside the restrooms.
It was a windy day so boats were bouncing about in the water and white-capped waves were emphatically slapping the shorelines.
That, however, was not stopping people from enjoying a sunny summer day.
The dogs got to go on some nice walks at rest stops and Coolin and the campground.
As always, pristine Priest Lake was beautiful as ever.
Enjoy the photos.
Happy Monday.
