Ugh Day; Sore Arm

As noted in my last post, both Bill and I received our Covid booster shots yesterday at Wal-Mart.

Because of an expected number of people expecting vaccinations, the staff asks that they sign up online.

We were fortunate in that we called so soon that the online option was not yet up.

So, we arranged our appointments through a telephone call and filled out a one-page form yesterday before getting our vaccinations.

Most anyone who has been vaccinated for Covid knows to expect a somewhat miserable 24-36 hours afterward.

Some lucky folks get off easy on the side effects, but for others, that time is total misery.

I was expecting our experience to be fairly easy this time because we have kept up on our vaccinations.

Also, last time neither Bill nor I experienced much of  anything other than a slightly sore arm.

This time was different.

Both of us compared notes this morning and both noticed that our noses were plugged up over night and that the sore arm was definitely sore.

Twas not a restful night because I had to sleep on my right side.  Every time I turned to the left, I felt the pain.

We're on the downhill slope for side effects, and hopefully later in the day we'll be back to normal.

For Bill side effects don't matter.  He was bound for Camp 126 up Smith Creek by the Canadian Border this morning.

It's the 50th year since he lived in a Forest Service camp and worked in the Smith Creek drainage.

Bill sticks to traditions, except this year is one day different.  His usual trip up that way happens the day after Labor Day when most of the recreational traffic is gone.

In this year's case, that very necessary Covid shot meant his trip is a day later than usual.

It's a gorgeous day for such an outing, and I have a feeling he'll spend most of it fishing.

I'm figuring on taking it easy today and finishing up my physical therapy sessions.

The lawn is mowed and there's not much garden work to do besides watering.  Happily, the watering for the summer is becoming less necessary as I've removed many veggie plants from the garden.

So, there's a plan and it's to relax a bit while the after effects of my shot diminish.

Annie did some geocaching on the Camino today AND had an uncomfortable experience.

Happy Wednesday.

For a chuckle, here are some funnies that my friend Helen sent me.
