It won't be long before the bags go on the back of the lawnmower so I can pick up the falling leaves.
For now, the leaves are creating a gorgeous carpet of color and unique leaf character.
What a treat as we make our way toward the bland and the blah of late fall!
Nice to have cool crisp days for enjoying the natural and glorious yard art.
And, happily, the big FALL has not yet gone into full motion, so we have an abundance of bucolic scenes at all levels of our perspectives.
Yesterday, I drove the tractor in the fields and mowed down tall and dead grass with the brush hog.
The task is always enjoyable, albeit bumpy, as I drive and gaze at 360 degrees of autumn wonder.
Gotta love it now cuz it will be gone soon.
I'll repeat here what I wrote on Facebook earlier today.
To Annie: Happy Birthday!💚💜💓💖💙💛
I have countless photos of you from your 46 years on this earth, but, for some reason, on this special day of yours, this one best epitomizes what I know of Annie Love aka Mia Wallace.
You are standing next to the Fearless Girl in New York City, with your Seattle Sounders scarf, of course.
There's definitely a bond with that sculpture, illustrated in virtually everything you do in life.
You stand as an inspiring example for so many of us in your world travels and in your convictions. You make your dad and me very proud to call you our daughter.
Happy Birthday, Precious aka Fearless Annie.
Keep up your inspiring ways!
Note: That stance in the photo above sure does remind me of Annie's Grandma Virginia Tibbs.
My absentee ballot came in yesterday's mail.
This weekend, I'll sit down and fill in the boxes for the candidates I believe will best represent their entire constituencies with honor, integrity, maturity, knowledge and awareness of their responsibilities.
Then, I'll follow the instructions carefully and return my ballot.
It's a welcome and sacred responsibility.
from my sisters, Barbara and Laurie:
It's
been a while since we have been able to celebrate the achievements of
some of our amazing horses.
October 19 we are inviting our friends and
family to help us honor the Regional and National accomplishments of
Dusty, Siri, and Pache starting at 2 p.m. at our arena on Center
Valley Rd. in Sandpoint, ID.
Come and enjoy a casual "Meet and Greet"
with our beloved horses in their home barn and catch up and visit with
our wonderful neighbors and friends while enjoying warm company and
light refreshments.
Dusty (Ravenwood DunIn Style+//), Siri (Ravenwood
Sky Maid+/), and Pache (Ravenwood Hot Stuff+//) have earned AHA's
prestigious, Legion of Honor(+), Legion of Supreme Honor(+/), and Legion
of Excellence(+//) awards and we have not had opportunity until now to
celebrate their amazing accomplishments.
In the last 2 years alone this
trio has racked up 3 National Championships, 1 Reserve National
Championships, 6 National Top Tens, 10 Regional Championships, 10
Regional Reserve Championships, 8 Regional Top Fives, and numerous Class
A Championships.
We'd be honored to have you come join us!
Busy day ahead.
Happy Saturday.
