Twas almost magical yesterday as huge flakes of snow continued to fall throughout the day.
We had a lovely snow-globe day here in the Selle Valley.
Though the walking areas have been limited by snowfall over the week, the dogs and I still had enough areas to get out and enjoy the wintry beauty.
I also spent some time with my horses.
What friends they are when one needs to get away from news of the outside world and to escape other daily concerns.
I always know that the ulterior motive for their liking me is that they know what I have in my pocket.
Nonetheless, Lily, Lefty and CB play along and patiently behave while I comb all three foretops, manes and tails.
When the combing session is completed, treats are doled out to each one---the usual is two per horse.
Even after treats, they'll hang around until they know I am leaving.
I don't get any treats for doing this, but there's a definite sense of endorphin-like fulfillment while spending time with them.
Every visit with my horses means a break in the pattern that emerges from staying in the house too long and yelling at some of the figures who appear on the television screen.
Happily, horses don't know politics.
They just know tasty treats and some loving, which is especially good for their owners.
This morning, I'll break the status quo with my annual trip to the eye doctor.
It should be a positive session because my vision seems to be fine, just over a year out from the cataract removal.
Another diversion for this Thursday:
ZAGS GAME DAY
Yes, they've lost seven games this season, which is more than I can remember for a long time.
Nonetheless, they are our team and when they are doing well, there's nothing prettier to watch.
Plus, as the season goes along, it's always fun to see how players develop, especially the new names on the team.
So, I'll continue watching the ZAGS, win or lose, as long as they remain the entertaining team which attracted them to us in the first place.
Tonight Gonzaga hosts Loyola Marymount in the Kennel.
Tip-off is at 6 p.m. PST
The game will be telecast on KHQ, Channel 6 or streamed on ESPN+.
GO, ZAGS!!!

Have a great Thursday.
Some Thursday Throwbacks. Enjoy.
