Let the "Fun" Madness Begin

de

First thing you notice is all the color---not just red, blue or purple, but truly representative of America.

A range of colors represented across the nation, and that already spells fun.

A madness all its own, and one which appeals to folks from all walks of life.

It begins today and ends sometime in early April with the National Championship games for both men and women in college basketball.

So, get that couch and those snacks ready along with the remote and join in on the excitement of The Dance.

It's a really great opening day of March Madness because the ZAGS are playing.

Tip off for Gonzaga vs Georgia

GO, ZAGS!!!

These deer.

Early this morning, three were bedded down in the second pasture.  A couple of hours later, they were still there.

As I walked back to the house down the lane, I saw five more just across the fence in the Meserve Preserve.

Five minutes later, while walking down the road, I saw four more in Taylor's field.

There will be no special day this spring when we can announce that the deer are returning to the Selle Valley from their winter homes.

They never left.

That's says a lot about the ultra mild winter we've had.

Last night, while walking the lane, I did see a definite and welcome sign of spring.  The mallards did go away for the winter.

This couple has returned and has taken up residence in the second pasture. I don't know what they did when the deer showed up.

Hope they stick around. It would be nice to see little duck babies quacking and waddling around in the pasture.

In other news, my longtime friend and local sage Pat Gooby has a sample of his one-liner observations in today's "Letters to the Editor" column of the Daily Bee

Pat states:  School yard bullies have nothing on ol' Donald and his sidekick.

I find it ironic that Pat's letter appeared on the same day that the school-yard bully is signing his BIG BLACK SIGNATURE to do away with the Department of Education.

Personally, for public school educators, past and present:  it's definitely the "unkindest cut of all" amongst so many ruthless, unkind cuts.

Let's see, targets have included education, foreign aid, natural resources, veterans, Native American and Black military heroes, higher education institutions, immigrants, judges, our Allies, Voice of America, poor people, etc.

When is that sharpie going to run out of ink?

The "winning" feels so good, NOT!

Thankfully, we have March Madness to somewhat distract us from the real madness.

Thursday Throwbacks . . . .enjoy!
