Happy Monday

No school buses this morning.

One deer running through the north lawn.

Birds chirping all over the place.

Lots of steps taken, sending horses to pasture and watering items on the west side of the house.

Five or six more cucumber seeds stuck in the garden soil where some transplanted cukes are looking sick.

Windows open, fans on.

No need for layers on trips outside.

It's a warm summer day and kind of an official opening to the summer daze.

Two more days of heat and then back to the 70's and maybe a little rain.

Things have been going wrong around here lately.  One waterer started leaking via a small waterfall coming from an opening in its side.

Bill thinks he fixed it.

Strange things are happening with our television reception and it's hit and miss. We can't get the Spokane channels and when changing channels, a window comes up saying the DISH folks know about it so don't call unless the same message stays up for two hours.

Who has time to check and see if an announcement has been up for two hours?

Anyway, I contacted DISH last night, and the tech will come Wednesday morning.

Soon after that, the TV's began to work just fine.

It's a strange phenomenon with it happening only at certain times, usually late afternoon and early evening.

Last week we thought we were going to have to cut another tree down because the local stations were filled with static.

In this latest situation, we can't even get the local stations to see if they are behaving.

Hopefully, the tech will figure it out by pushing a few buttons.

In other news, Annie's coming home for a few days on Thursday.  So, little Foster had his grooming session yesterday.  Annie's visits always provide a nice time to get the little guy all gussied up.

The photo below shows him lying in the shade just after his beauty parlor time.

I'll let the photos do the rest of the talking since I'm anxious to get outside and finish the watering.

The heat is already on.

Happy Monday.

The Virginia creeper is doing some serious 2025 creeping.

I cut it back to nothing every year, and every year it seems to creep that much faster.

Thanks, Gail Redinger.  That little sprig you gave me a few years ago has lots of life and energy.

Happy Monday to all.

Stay cool.

Andy Williams was my favorite singer back in the days (early 1960s)  when "Theme from a Summer Place" topped the charts.

"Moon River" was also one of my favorites, along with Andy.

When I babysat the younger Delamarter kids on Thursday nights while everyone else  in the family went to Presbyterian choir practice, I would try to play "Moon River" on their piano.

I could manage about the first eight notes before my music-challenged fingers and brain would go south.

But I could sure listen to the song without any glitches time after time.
