Ireland, Fall 2025; Day Twelve

A trip on the spectacular Ring of Kerry, lunch at Port Magee, a trip across the bridge to Valencia Island, lots of spooky stuff along the way, dispatches from Willie and Debbie in the Belfast area, a parade and even some midnight fireworks made for a memorable last day of October for Bill and me.

For the most part weather cooperated, even some sun and later rains stopping for the Kenmare Halloween parade.

So, I'd say yesterday was far superior to the day before, and I think most folks around here would agree.

It was a full-fledged Halloween, one we'll never forget.

And, it was our last day of staying and enjoying beautiful Kenmare.

We'll be moving on to Dublin today for our last night in Ireland.  This phenomenal experience will be topped off with a CAAMP concert tonight at National Stadium.

Willie and Debbie attended the group's concert in Missoula, Mont., this past summer, so they're excited to see them in Dublin, and they're taking Ma and Pa Love along to enjoy the show.

Tomorrow we make the long flight home via Aer Lingus and later an Alaska flight to Spokane.

With that in mind, I don't know how the blog will look the next couple of days, but I'll do my best to post.

Thanks for your patience if it doesn't work out.

A few from Willie and Debbie's day in Belfast where they took the Black Taxi tour, among other ventures.

Their taxi driver and guide Jim experienced the horror of bombings in Belfast and has just recently been able to talk about his memories.

Debbie said she was mentally spent after the tour.

I met Sparksy last night.

She and her family were  all dressed up for the Halloween parade in Kenmare.

She's a beautiful dog, and I can't remember the breed.  If anyone knows, let me know.

Sparksy enjoyed the parade and even wanted to go join in with the participants.

The parade began at half past six and proceeded down Main Street, making a loop around downtown.

Lots of participants, very family-oriented with young and old and an equal number of admiring spectators.

Well organized and fun.

Afterward, Bill went to the ice cream shop and enjoyed a cone.

A ghoulish good time was had by all---even fireworks a few minutes after midnight.

We felt like we were fully immersed in the hometown crowd when this lady and her two daughters came from the parade over to where we were standing on the sidewalk, said hello and asked how we were enjoying ourselves.

The two adorable young ladies participated in Willie's basketball clinic earlier this week, while their mom helped out as a coach.

I guess we'd say that "we have arrived" in Kenmare.  Their friendly greeting made us feel special.

Happy Saturday.  Hello, November.

Enjoy the photos.
