I have to lead off this morning with big family news. That young man whose photo appeared on this site a few days ago with Annie Dog has achieved a pretty nice milestone for a 9-year-old.
Jacob is going to Space Camp in July. And, when he goes to camp at Kennedy Space Center , he'll get to watch the very last Space Shuttle launch.
I don't know a lot of details except his mother Laura gets to accompany him. Jacob is one of the triplets who have a bunch of grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins and siblings who are proud of them all.
Congratulations, Jacob. You can be sure that this extended family will be watching the space news in July with some extra enthusiasm. And, you'll probably be expected to set up a press conference on your return.

Today is one of those "this and that" days. A little lawn to mow, a little watering to do, a few veggies/flowers left to stick in the ground, some house cleaning to do, wrapping up on one story and starting on another writing project and just plain enjoying the day.
Willie and Debbie have company coming for the weekend, so we'll see them off and on. Debbie, by the way, is headed to Lewiston this morning and then to Culdesac to help Girl Scouts set up a community garden, thanks to a grant.
Bill is preparing today for a geocaching seminar tomorrow. First, he'll do some instruction; then, the group (17 signed up so far) will go to the Trout Creek Fish and Game property on Lower Pack River to put their knowledge to practice.
He's coming home early to go over there to get things set up, so I may accompany him----and maybe I'll take Lily. Haven't ridden over there yet this year, so today may be a good day.
It's nice finally to be to a stage where virtually every day no longer presents a sense of urgency to race around and get things done.
The lawn will slow down on growing every day, the dandelions have disappeared and the garden is to the point of needing its watering and some weeding.
And, besides, there's ever-appearing beauty to behold, such as the Love Canal lupine (in photo), which started putting on their show this week.

So, occasionally over the next few days, after a very busy spring, I can feel a little breathing room. Of course, I won't "hold my breath" because one can always count on outside factors to sneak in and fill up the empty spaces.
Guess that's enough "stuff" for this Friday. Have a good one.
