Cake's almost gone.
It's the first of hundreds of Saturday's for Bill.
His retirement festivities are almost completely in the books.
One event yet to go, and that will be this morning when he follows the coordinates given to him to find the rest of his gifts---in a geocache, of course.
I don't know where this rain came from cuz it wasn't due for a few days, but rain or shine, we'll go geocaching this morning.
In behalf of Bill, I'll send out a big thanks to all who attended his party and to Tammy, TJ and the crowd who organized it at the Dept. of Lands office yesterday afternoon.
It was a party befitting Bill, and I know he is very appreciative of the cards, gifts and visits with former colleagues (they're all former as of today), friends and family. They'll all remain friends forever.
I'll throw in a photo or two of the party as well as a few I took while killing time on a beautiful afternoon at City Beach.
Finally, I'll include some photos from a wonderful activity at Kootenai School on Thursday where Home Depot employees came with shovels, planter boxes, dirt and determination to beautify and area on the school grounds and ready it for student gardens.
The Master Gardeners, with Michele Murphree spearheaded the partnership. It will mean good times ahead for the aspiring garden club at Kootenai School.
Michele tells me the group has 25 members and almost a dozen on a waiting list. Hats off to Michele and Home Depot for pulling off this wonderful activity.

Soon, we'll be off to find a special geocache. Happy Saturday to all.

Of course, Bill had to get a "honey do" list, complete with coordinates for his special geocache and a No. 1 reminder: clean up after yourself. |
