The Gift of Seattle: Day One

It's a weekend of enjoying a birthday gift, given by my wonderful family of Bill, Willie, Debbie and Annie.

On my birthday in June, Annie called to let me know what they had all cooked up:  a weekend in Seattle and a Mariners game.  Just choose the date, they said.

When Bill heard the Red Sox were coming to Seattle over Labor Day, we decided this would be the weekend.

So, we're here, compliments of the kids and Bill.  Willie stayed in Sandpoint to take care of the place and the animals.  That, in itself, is a wonderful gift.

We've done the ferry thing at Kingston and from Bainbridge Island.

Our sight seeing took us through adorable Port Gamble.

We've eaten good Mexican food ('cept for my Gringo burger) at San Carlos Restaurant on the "island."

Today we'll take an 8-mile hike----with a geocache in mind, of course!

Tomorrow we'll watch the Mariners and the Red Sox.

And, of course, pictures will be taken along the way as the "gift of Seattle" continues to unfold.

That song from the old TV show "the bluest skies" certainly fits Seattle this weekend as the place continues to have dry, beautiful and pleasant weather.

Not a bad choice of weekends, and I'm loving it!   Thanks, beloved Love's.

Happy Sunday.

What a fun present. I love it when the "kids" come up with special ideas.
