Water, Water . . . .

We are experiencing very erratic Internet service this morning, so I'm hoping it's behaving when I post today's entry.

This morning's problems and those a few days ago seem to be caused by the rain storms, which is perplexing as we've had rain before without losing our service.  Hoping this is not the new normal.

I am glad to see the rain, though, because now our fields should react well to their coat of fertilizer which Bill and I spread Sunday night.

I worried a bit yesterday because I had applied the front pasture after the brief rainstorm Sunday afternoon.

So, I dragged a hose from the front yard, attached it to the back-yard hose and spent part of the afternoon wetting down the pasture with barely a trickle coming from the hose.

This morning we have encountered much more than a trickle coming from the sky.  So, no worries on the fertilizer.

Bill said the downpour as he returned home from fishing the Coeur d'Alene River yesterday reminded him of the gully washes which are common in Louisiana and Texas.

This morning the rain was pounding the house pretty hard, but he called it just steady rain in comparison to last night's drenching south of us.

We need the wet stuff, and I'll be happy to get some household projects done today.

Last night I drove out to Pack River flats which is looking beautiful these days in comparison to the mud flats we see most of the winter.  Foliage has dressed up all the bushes, and the lake has come up to its summer level.

The views now offer some postcard-perfect enjoyment.  Unfortunately, my photo op was short-lived when the camera battery ran out.

Meanwhile, over in Italy, Annie's cameras have been working just fine.  She visited Assisi yesterday and today's itinerary includes Sorrento, Pompeii and the Almafi Coast.

Of course, there are pizza parlors along the way, but when there's a big LOVE sign on the wall, that's an added treat.

I'm loving her photos and thinking Italy would be a pretty good item to put on the bucket list.  For now, the photos will have to suffice.

Happy Tuesday, and Happy Birthday to Swiss Miss who turned 18 today!

Italian Pizza Parlor with LOVE on the wall.  Of course, Annie had to snap a shot.

Today Annie is visiting  Sorrento and Pompeii and the Almafi Coast.  She labeled this shot from a couple of hours ago "Sorrento."

Bible?  Or cell phone?  Hmm.

Well, the Pope sends a daily message via Twitter, so it's important to see what he has to say!

I loved this image from Annie's collection during her trip to Assisi.
