Icy-Day Wonderful(s)!

Endorphins aplenty!

Yup, yesterday's spectacular sunshine ushered in the 2017 Christmas weekend like nothing I can ever remember.

That intense sunshine hung around all day, collaborating with frigid temps to create a landscape which seemed almost too perfect to be real.

But, happily, it was real, and, baby it WAS cold outside.

So,  hyperactivity became a necessity for most outdoor activities.

Keep moving, or those toes would turn into painful petrified digits, almost threatening to break off if ya tried to wiggle 'em inside your boots.

It was a day of busyness filled with reminders to slow down from time to time and to embrace the magnificence of nature's handiwork.

I think most people took the cue in the midst of the pre-Christmas rush.

We took time to visit with friends and, of course, to pay a visit to the beautiful horses, including little CB, over at my sisters'.

Annie met the little guy for the first time and spent some time loving him.

The horses were truly feeling their oats as they raced through their pen filled with pretty white snow.

What a sight it was!

All in all, twas a great day, filled with wonderful touches of our blessed rural life.

And, today, I suspect the fun will continue.  My brother Jim arrived last night from Oregon.  After another busy day, we'll gather at my sisters' for our Christmas Eve gabbing, eating and gift exchanging.

Then, we'll come home, hit the hay for another long winter's night leading up to much-anticipated traditions and laid-back festivities of Christmas. Fun times!

Happy Sunday.
