Pics on a Rainy Day

                                                                          ---Annie Love Photo

If I had to pick between the young one above or the young one below, I'll take the mud-puddle horse.

April showers have arrived.  Mud is reigning supreme.

I was rather amazed yesterday on my walk out to put the horses in the barn for the night to see CB playing in the mud.

This is the same young horse, who, two weeks ago, would not come to barn because he had to put his toes in cold, icy water.

Well, it's safe to say, that's water under the barnyard now.

CB not only checked out the mud but advanced into full-blown splashing mode.

I even have a short video where I said, "CB, play in the mud, and he did, immediately."

Anyway, another wet day around here after a mostly wet Saturday with occasional sun breaks.

It was a day of accomplishment for me with greenhouse and outside projects after the moose just across the road finally figured out how to jump over the fence and disappeared into Gary Finney's woods.

Yesterday also marked a relaxing work-up toward the grand finale of Bill's role as "Rehab Man."

He enjoyed an inside sports marathon, of sorts with the Seattle Mariners winning a big one over the Chicago White Sox.

While Bill was making sure the Mariners would win their game, I even took a spin in the car around our area, looking for pictures.  Not a lot to photograph on a rather dreary day.

Then came the two Final Four NCAA men's basketball games.

We're quite happy that Texas Tech won their game because, as my friend Helen said, that means Gonzaga lost to a really great team.

It's okay with us if the Red Raiders win it all. They are pretty amazing, and their win would soothe all of us diehard ZAGS fans.

Willie and Debbie joined us for the games and for hamburgers.  We had a great time nibbling and slouching while exchanging texts and videos with Annie who was just starting her April 7 in Hanoi, Vietnam.

From the many photos she posted yesterday, it was a full day in the city where most folks of my generation probably have a different perspective than people Annie's age.

Who, among us oldsters, could have ever conceived the notion that someone from the United States would go to Hanoi, play soccer with the locals, receive a t-shirt and share lunch and a beer.

It does happen these days in a peaceful and beautiful Vietnam, but it takes some getting used to for our generation who knew about Vietnam because of an ongoing, ugly war.

Times have definitely changed for the better in that country.

Annie has also piggybacked on a scooter through the streets of Hanoi and, of course, taken in many beautiful sights.

All in all, the rain keeps falling, the mud keeps increasing, Annie keeps entertaining us with her adventures and Bill's countdown keeps moving closer his bidding adieu to the knee roller and walking on two feet again.

Happy Sunday.

Some of Annie's adventures in Vietnam . . . .
