It's official.
In the newspaper this morning, we saw officially that Brandon Casey has signed with the University of Montana Grizzly football program.
We've known for quite some time that, as a great student, outstanding football player and hard worker, Brandon would have some wonderful college opportunities.
Over the past year Bill and I have had the opportunity to get to know Brandon better. We've followed him off and on ever since he was born.
This year, however, Brandon came to the house a couple of times.
In one case, 'twas Prom 2019 and Emma was his date.
At the time Bill and I were playing surrogate grandparents while Emma's host parents, Willie and Debbie, were out of town for a journalism convention.
What a lovely day that was and so much fun that evening when Brandon's mom Anne Marie (one of my former students) and his grandma Shirley (Shirl the Pearl) Parker came out for photos.
Shirley is a longtime friend and former teaching colleague.
[Did I get that right, long time friend, Marian?]
Later in the summer Brandon came again and worked for us as part of our one-day hay crew. When you read in the news article that he's a hard worker, I can attest to that, based on our experience here at the Lovestead.
Congratulations, Brandon. We are proud of you and you can be sure we'll be following you.
Since the snow is piling up outside, today's grab bag of Throwback Thursday photos today offers a winter theme.
And, in every case, the images provide varying degrees of personal poignance.
So, bear with me if I get a bit sappy.
Some may be aware that I LOVE people and that I feel truly blessed to have and to have had many remarkable and amazing people in my life.
Let's just say that today's photos offer a small sample.
The people with the Border Collie named Eddie are Betsy and Greg. Just a nice winter day for a walk with a great dog. |
Home on North Boyer I like to get this photo out every so often. Lots of memories there. |
Just a nice photo of Willie and Debbie, the Young Loves |
Sarah Aavedal is a member of our Lodgepole Society. It's been a while since I've seen Sarah who works in Alaska fisheries as a biologist. |
When the two men in this photo came to visit our home on Great Northern Road, we definitely could call it the "FUNNY FARM" all the time they were there. I miss Boots Reynolds and Pat McManus. We enjoyed lots of laughs. |
