Sunday Musings

I think Foster agrees with my idea.

Find a remote island.

Call it "Reality Island."

Set up a golf course and a good supply of high-priced military equipment---the best-ever, of course.

Collect all the bellicose, arrogant, mean-spirited, hypocritical, power-hungry despots and send them on a luxury cruise or flight to the island where they'll find all the comforts that fit their needs.

Let 'em duke it out, playing a round of golf in between battles, of course.

Leave behind the multitudes of decent, hard-working, ordinary souls in each country who truly care about humanity and who make up the real backbone of their individual nations through their consistent and truly beneficial good work.

Let these citizens not be distracted and dismayed by the constant and insane whims of the power-hungry.

Bet the world would be a better, more peaceful place.

Foster sez, "Yeah!"

Thankfully, it's still relatively peaceful pretty much every day around here.

Yesterday turned out to be a mild and pretty day, filled with segments of college basketball, some NFL football, and, of course, the ZAGS who consistently (so far, anyway) provide the perfect distraction from thinking about those who need to go to the island and play with their destructive toys.

In between house cleaning and game watching and dinner prep, I took a quick trip up to McArthur Lake, which looks like it's pretty well back to normal for lake level.

I enjoyed a quick walk in the grassy area west of the lake and relished the fact that most of the steps I took left no clue of my presence.

Dry ground.

Dry, bare ground, for me, is a winter-time craving, especially after several days of maneuvering around killer ice.

Fortunately, there are places, like McArthur where walking outside once again become a pleasure rather than a hazard.

I don't know how long that will last because more snow is in the forecast, but for yesterday, the opportunity provided a great outdoor getaway.

Today's distraction:  the Seahawks.

Hope they can pull off a win.  And, if it doesn't start snowing, I'll go find some more bare ground.

Good stuff where 26 more days remain in January.

Happy Sunday.
