My family friend Lynn posted the exercise routine for golden oldies the other day on Facebook.
Sounded like a great idea.
So, I've begun my pursuit of shaping up by rounding up a few potato sacks.
This morning's history column in the Daily Bee noted that Glen Judge had the best potatoes at the Bonner County Fair 50 years ago.

Speaking of taking up a bold new exercise routine, we might want to also take a cue from the Polish by not always worrying about the consequences of stuff we want or need to achieve.
I found the article below both interesting and enlightening as it gives us some insight into the can-do spirit of the Poles.
I'm realizing this morning that Thursday Throwbacks are influencing much of what's on the mind today.
As we look forward to this Saturday's Kentucky Derby, I looked back on an experience I had with Annie a few years ago at Santa Anita.
Twas the year after American Pharoah won the first Triple Crown in nearly 40 years. Annie and I visited Santa Anita over Martin Luther King weekend the next year.
We not only followed every entire race of the day (and did some betting) but we also saw American Pharoah's jockey Victor Espinoza and his trainer Bob Baffert.
I have a feeling we may see references to both in the upcoming Derby features, and, thanks to my ESPY friend Chris, we are ready for our Derby party.
Beautiful Derby masks arrived in yesterday's mail.
In other news, yesterday, the news suggested that the CDC says states should start getting ready for Covid vaccine by late October or early November.
Interesting timing, to say the least.
Of course, the way the news involving governmental behavior usually changes by the minute, we may learn later---after the election and depending on how it turns out with people casting two ballots apiece and putting them in the mail----that the CDC really meant late October or early November of 2021, and that's only if we behave and if we live in Red States.
Guess we Idahoans luck out there!
Anywho, I wish these vaccinations would hurry up and get over and done with cuz I'm already spending the majority of my time while watching the news covering my eyes.
It seems that some poor victim is getting a shot every single time I watch the news these days.
As one who cannot stand getting shots or watching others get shots, I feel the prickly pain several times a day. And, in our house, Bill is just as bad as I am.
Add to the fact, that a call to get flu shots will start soon, and we squeamish souls will have to buy blinders to go with our masks while watching the news.
And, I don't want to even start on the fact that I often need to put a sock in my mouth under my mask to keep Foster from cowering and cringing while I react to what I'm hearing.
Just saying.
Finally, yesterday I washed my cedar trees. I've never washed trees before, but I had a Polish moment and Jackos to Bedzie took over.
Yup, I took the hose, hooked it up to the north lawn hydrant and washed that whole row of cedar trees near the road, along with the lilac blueberry bushes and the shrubs at the driveway entrance.
Why would one wash trees, you may be wondering?
Well, since we've had no rain, and the dust abatement applied to the road much earlier this summer no longer works, it looks like we're living in a latter day Mt. St. Helens zone here.
Trees and shrubs are so coated with dust they have turned gray, and when I drive by with the lawnmower, I look like a Mt. St. Helens abominable snowman.
After contacting the county road boss and learning that it's dusty everywhere and that there are no plans for applying any more abatement this year (but maybe paving next year), I took the issue into my own hands and gave the trees and shrubs a bath.
Upon inspection this morning, I figured maybe a second dousing would be good, but they still look a lot better, and my next lawn mowing session may not require an immediate trip to the shower.
Sometimes ya just gotta do what ya have to do and worry about consequences later.
The Polish have a good idea there.
Happy Thursday, enjoy the TBT's below and disregard the strange look with the graphic above. Another blogger glitch.

Thursday Throwbacks . . . .
Love pups and peeps.
We took our trailers and tents and dogs and went camping at Meadow Creek near Bonners Ferry three years ago.
Four-legged and two-leggeds had a great time near the spot where Grandmother Iva Tibbs taught in a one-room school house back in the 1920s.
Annie visited Swiss Miss and her family while traveling around Europe three years ago.
That's Laura, Annie and Laura's mom and dad, Caroline and Fritz.
Three years ago a 50-year remembrance and commemoration of the 1967 Sundance Fire in the Selkirks occurred both in the mountains and at Trinity.
Family members of the two men who died in the fire came from Montana and California for the event.
People listened and visited and remembered.
I really miss the fact that the Idaho State Draft and Mule International Show is no longer held in its original home of Bonner County.
During the time leading up to the show, it was not unusual for hitches of big horses to be plodding up and down the road or sometimes even our lane. These are my neighbor Gary Finney's horses with Lori Jasman at the reins.
