Precious Day

Every single day is precious.

But this day, Oct. 19, is literally all about "Precious."

Our Annie aka Precious has turned 42, and we celebrate her.

Happy Birthday, Annie.

You continue to make us proud and to inspire your family along with a whole host of other folks from around the world.

As I mentioned on your Facebook birthday greeting, the photo above seemed like the most appropriate for you during this year of your life.

You have taken a lot of sour lemons dealt out by the Pandemic and, as usual, through your vision, grit, perseverance and sense of adventure, have transformed them into refreshing, sweet and memorable lemonade.

You truly do inspire.

Keep it up.

We need your example.

Have a great day, Precious!

In other Monday-morning news, most of the very unwelcome, pretty, but still very unwelcome snow from yesterday has melted.

I'm guessing that yesterday marked the first-ever Oct. 18 that I have had to take the broom outside mid-morning and sweep off the satellite dishes.

I was not happy.

After coming back inside to resume work at my laptop only to have my glasses fog up while melting drops of snow cascaded from my hair onto my laptop keys, I was not happy about that either.

Much, much too early to be dealing with reminders of the long winter ahead.

Like Annie, though, I tend to persevere---after a whole lot of complaining---of course.

I eventually went back outside, grabbed a rake and transported thousands of leaves from the base of trees and along the house.

The leaf rows will be there today for mulching with my lawnmower that DOES work.

Saturday was not a good day with my main mower and its leaf bags.

A whole summer of not needing Tony, the Wizard, to come and fix the usual stuff that goes wrong made up for itself in one day's time.

Things too numerous to mention happened as I began the annual leaf pickup.

Happily, most of the bad stuff waited until I'd dumped at least seven or eight loads of leaves.

Sadly, it happened, but happily, Tony said he would come today. Hoping for his usual wizardry to have me back in business soon.

I just hope we don't have any of that winter weather they're predicting for later in the week.

Ugh!

Happy Monday.
