I think CB must sense that he's gonna leave us for a while in the next few days.
So, it must have been important yesterday for him to put on one of his spring-fling shows.
CB is going to school this weekend.
For approximately two months (unless he gets kicked out of school) he'll be under the care and guidance of Mary Marienau, a member of our 4-H horse club a year or two ago.
Mary, a local public school educator, trains and rides horses and mules. She comes highly recommended from my sisters, so I'm feeling good about giving up my pride and joy for a while.
Lily and Lefty probably won't mind either.
Liam---that's another story.
Liam and CB have an affinity with each other where they spend hours eyeing each other with a fence in between.
Sometimes Liam tries to sneak into the barnyard under the bottom fence board, but fortunately, the horses refrain from doing him any harm if he gets too close.
So, when CB leaves, Liam may go through some withdrawal.
We've entered different times here at the Lovestead with the lawn looking as beautiful as it will all year. Dandelions are threatening, but they haven't come on full bore just yet.
The weekend rain made lawn mowing a very satisfying pleasure yesterday.
I told Bill yesterday that I wished we could keep this current beauty flourishing with new life all year long.
Of course, if that were the case, we probably wouldn't appreciate it enough.
Yesterday I also cleaned out a few flower beds. Slowly but carefully the annuals will be placed in their summer homes.
I also planted some celery starts, which are available at The Flower Farm. And, yesterday, I noticed the radishes, planted last week, and some lettuce popping up through the garden box dirt.
The rhubarb start from last year looks like it may produce enough for some sauce or a crisp.
In short, it's just plain good times. We've earned them. CB's antics pretty much mirror the excitement of the times.
Happy Tuesday. Enjoy the photos.
