Easter Weekend Memories

Hard to sum up Easter Weekend 2021.

It was definitely one for the books in so many ways.

We ate.

We visited.

We looked at my sisters' new tractor.

We ate.

We enjoyed time outside and early spring flowers.

We laughed at it but still enjoyed an ugly cake.

We watched basketball.

We ate.

We tensed up----our Fitbits told us so with heartbeats threatening to go off the charts.

We prayed.

We sprung from our couches and chairs and jumped and clapped and shrieked and hugged and jumped and clapped some more and cried.

And, ya know what?

Almost identical behavior was happening at precisely the same times in multitudes of living rooms, bars, yards and gyms around the world.

I know so cuz I have seen the dozens of videos on Twitter showing postgame reactions.

Amazing how that unscripted, spontaneous, insane shrieking  and jumping for joy can sound and look exactly the same in homes thousands of miles away.

We even watched THE GAME FOR THE AGES again yesterday, and, by golly, the second time through, Gonzaga still won with that same amazing shot heard and seen around the world.

It was the best.

They are the best, and we will extend this weekend and this ZAGS story one more day---for this run.

So, today, we'll eat and visit and enjoy the sunny outdoors and we'll watch the last basketball game of the season tonight.

Longtime ZAGS fans know that the happiest person in the world today is Rem Bakamus, Gonzaga grad, ZAGS team member and Baylor coaching intern.

He'll win tonight no matter what.

And, that's just one more inspiring layer of the magnificent and awe-inspiring story, which has kept the ZAGS faithful and eating and yelling and praying and celebrating for years.

Tonight this season ends.

No matter the outcome, we'll ZAG on forever!

A story well worth the read . . . .

from ZAGS Chick on Twitter who speaks for us all:

Dear Basketball God, AKA James Naismith... As I lay me down to sleep (yeah right, nervous as f---), I pray that you hear me when I say THAT I CANNOT EMOTIONALLY OR PHYSICALLY HANDLE ANOTHER GAME LIKE UCLA!

 Gonzaga by 23, please.
( said it’s fine) Amen and #GoZags

Thanks for the memories, ZAGS!

We love you!
