Fun Surprise; TBT

I had just finished mowing my lawn, so they came in the driveway at a good time.

"Who are these people from Washington?" I thought while walking toward their shiny red car.

I could see be smiles on their faces, but not until I saw them through the open window did I realize that it was Al and Diana Jacobson.

Later, I realized there was a quiet passenger in the back seat.  Tinted windows, these days!

Yup, it was Susie Parkins, Diana's cousin.

Both Susie and Diana's roots run deep from their early years here in Selle.

They had been out looking over old home places when they decided to figure out where I lived.

Al and Diana now live in Vancouver, Wash., and it had been a few years since I'd seen them AND more than a year since I last visited with Susie and Mike at their home.

What a wonderful surprise to have them stop in for a quick visit!  Those moments mean all the more since the Pandemic began.

Al and I were colleagues at Sandpoint High School, and I taught all three of their children: Byron, the grape, Becky and Bobbie.

We did a little catching up, and they were on their way for more visiting.

A nice moment after a day of mowing lawn, for sure.

Happy Thursday.

I hope my teaching friends enjoy the rather extensive TBT below.

Thursday Throwbacks . . . . In keeping with a theme I've seen on a popular Facebook group forum called "Signs You're a Sandpoint Kid," the fact that this is Teacher Appreciation Week and because of yesterday's visit from a former Sandpoint High School colleague, TBT's this week will feature just a few teachers I have known and love--some still with us, some not.

Hope you enjoy the memories and lessons these people created for you or in young people's lives.

Disclaimer:  I have many more photos of teachers, just can't find them all in my extensive library.  So, if you're not pictured today and I have photographed you over the years, more than likely you shall be one of these days.
