Sticky-Finger Blogging

Has anyone mentioned that it is warm this week?

Well, it is.  Add to that some extra humidity.

That's my disclaimer for any glitches in the blog this morning.

My fingers are SO sticky.

How sticky?  Some may ask.

Sticky enough that I couldn't slide them up my cell phone to get the flashlight to shut off.

Sticky enough that typing is challenging this morning, especially cuz I'm using my laptop while the desktop computer is in the shop.

If that sounds like some excuses, it is.

Still, I'm betting I'm not the only one having to adjust to slimy body parts this week.

Yesterday, the only in-town "to do" was to take my computer to Joel's shop of magic so he could add another hard drive so that I would not run out of space to store my thousands of pictures.

That simple task turned out hard when the white capri pants I was wearing rubbed against the dusty computer tower and had to go to the wash.

That meant I had to find some other relatively cool pants to wear to town on this errand.  I have put my jeans aside until it cools off.

First problem:  would those summer pants that I haven't worn for maybe a year or two fit or, more practically speaking, zip up?

Some did; others didn't.

All the while I was looking for presentable pants to wear to town, sweat dripped from all parts of my body, especially my head.

I had already blown my sweaty bangs dry, only to have them go sopping wet again by the time I found a pair of shorts to slip on.  Never mind that my fat white legs had not seen any sun above the calf.  The shorts fit and they would have to do.

After all, I was walking into a computer store where Joel's mother, who's about my age would be.  She would understand and probably not even LOOK at my fat white legs.

By the time I got those shorts on, I had to go back to the hair dryer to dry those bangs again.  Throw in a towel to dry the rest of my sweaty body.

Then, it was an urgent race to get the tower to the car before more sweat started dripping.  I knew I'd be okay once the air conditioning started working.

And, this was 10 a.m. in the morning.

I lost count of how many times I used my hair dryer yesterday to dry those soggy bangs.  It was often.

And, this morning, the humidity must have doubled what it was yesterday.

So, yes, I have an excuse for possible glitches in trying to post this blog entry on this laptop.

That said, it's been fun to hear from the kids again.  They've done a lot of sightseeing in the last day AND geocaching.  Probably the neatest geocache was found inside an abandoned jetliner somewhere in Iceland.  Annie says she thinks they ran low on gas, landed it and then left it behind.

It's quite the eery sight, to say the least.

They have also found some areas  that look a lot like Ireland with waterfalls and stunning greenery.

So,  I'm gonna just post as many pictures as I can, and if time allows, will explain where necessary.

Hope you enjoy.   Happy Friday.

This couple are celebrating 20 years of marriage this summer.  The Icelandic trip with Annie has been their gift to each other.

Nice way to celebrate.

I'm told that Debbie loves maps, so she navigates both outside the car and in the back seat.

Looks like Iceland has better hay crops than we do.  Maybe the kids will bring home some extra bales tomorrow.
