No snow fell on gates from the sky or from the barn roof above.
No shoveling.
No snow blowing.
No plowing.
No huffing, puffing, groaning or cussing while pulling a barn door open.
No slipping or sliding on ice.
Just crunch, crunch, crunch!
No boots or Yak Tracks needed for taking Princess Bridie on her first "business" trip outside.
No!
At last, I can joyfully proclaim that this morning has been divine here at the Lovestead.
We have turned a corner, maybe the first major corner of this winter but definitely a welcome corner.
Thank you, Mother Nature, for giving us a break and for turning the landscape and the sky into a magical winter kingdom.
So, exquisitely beautiful with stars glistening in the sky, some moon shine, sparkling lights from atop Schweitzer.
A cold, blue hue and dumpling-like, pure white and abundant snow added to the magical atmosphere of the early-morning outings.
It truly was an overall pleasant experience, embracing the outside world on this last Monday of December rather than dreading and suffering through it like so many mornings before.
Literal horse power has also cleared more open spots for throwing out hay for Lily, Lefty and CB in the barnyard.
Bitter cold and minimal precipitation is a-coming. I don't mind that a bit.
I love cold, crisp days in the winter, especially because the frigid temperatures lock all the stunning beauty in place.
And, my oh my, Mother Nature has dished out plenty of that.
Twas difficult and challenging to navigate the burdensome consequences each day as she created the magnificent winter landscape we see this morning.
It's been grueling, and it's been a grind.
Nonetheless, at last, we have caught up with plowing, shoveling and other winter essentials, so now we can enjoy.
Outside scenes will provide a beautiful ending to 2021, and, who knows, maybe even more peeps will strive do the same.
Happy Monday.
