Saturday Slight

Good Saturday morning to all.

It looks like we might have a fairly decent day weatherwise, but, after the past few days of intermittent rain, I'm not holding my breath.

Up to this point, the morning has been pleasant.

I like this picture, not only because it's about as candid as it gets but also because of what Willie, Debbie and Bill were doing when it was taken.

Annie had sent information yesterday afternoon about how we could get a much cheaper rental car for our Ireland adventure.

So, they were looking over possibilities and finding that it's possible we can save a substantial amount by going the route Annie suggested.

Fingers crossed.

I'm planning to keep this post in tune with its title:  "slight," mainly because I've included a couple of links readers may enjoy.

One is an television interview with Frank Vandersloot, named as the richest man in Idaho by Business Insider and Forbes. He's a Sandpoint product who grew up in Cocolalla.

Seems Frank is not happy with the shenanigans of some members of the Bonneville County Republicans.  I chose to post this interview because his concerns reflect a common trend around the state.

How many are counting the days, hours and minutes until those piles of full-color fliers quit coming the daily mail and until the phone quits ringing, much too often with messages from a candidate desperate to win a political office using every deceptive means possible?

Anyway, it's interesting what Frank has to say, and let's hope Idaho voters see through the shenanigans that have dominated this year's primary election.

Also, I've included a neat feature story from Texas Monthly.  If you're a Yellowstone, the series, addict, you'll love the story.

Also, if you've always loved the cowboy culture, you'll love it.

It's about a cowboy named Boots.  I must say that I've known two other cowboys named Boots, and both were pretty authentic in Western culture themselves.

Must be something about that name!
