CB Homecoming, Et. Al.

This is about as much excitement as we saw yesterday after bringing CB home from his trainer Mary's place.

Lily and Lefty watched as I unloaded him, sniffed him a couple of times in the pasture and then went back to eating.

CB had been gone for a month, and I expected more animation during their reunion, but I guess they all have the "been there, done that" attitude.

Anyway, it's nice to have him home, and I think he's happy to be here.

We'll keep him going under saddle with some sessions over at my sisters where my neighbor Terra will ride him.

Yesterday was also a gathering day, although I could have waited to pick the blueberries and beans.

There's just something exciting about that first picking, no matter how much comes to the house.

Last night I discovered that some of the small tomatoes have turned red, which promises a tasty treat, plucked from the vine today when I go to the garden.

That's Sandpoint's Cindy Wooden, Vatican Bureau Chief for Catholic News Service,  in the photo above.

This morning Cindy was tweeting from the airport in Rome where she is accompanying  and reporting on Pope Francis on his trip to Canada.

She noted that they were ready to go and that they had the whole airport terminal to themselves before taking off for Edmonton, Alberta.

The Pope greeted all the journalists on the Papal jet.

On July 20, Cindy wrote an article about the Francis's visit to Canada.

Here's a link to her story.

Willie, Debbie and Annie gave me this rose for Mother's Day.

It's beautiful, and it's named for Miranda Lambert.

Just as pretty and meaningful as her poignant song "The House That Built Me."

Facebook friend and longtime school-bus mate

Bill Moody posted this on his page.

I've seen a shoe tree and a gum tree but never a bra tree.

Bill sez it's up Baldy somewhere.

Maybe worth a Sunday drive!

Have a great day.
