It was little Kenny's first Christmas.
The nice part is that he'll participate in his second Christmas after he arrives in Boise where he will spend the holiday.
We had an early Christmas celebration last night, with Willie and Debbie, and, yes, Kenny in the spotlight.
The young loves and their dogs are headed to Boise today to spend Christmas with Debbie's family.
So, it was Second Avenue Pizza night and opening of gifts for them.
We all had a good time. Well, maybe not ALL the dogs.
The evening was tough on Liam, having to share his Debbie with her new little one. Liam truly loves Debbie.
Knowing Bridie's potential, we had her stay in the crate and watch the action rather than creating it.
Foster was uncharacteristic last night, allowing Kenny to spend most of the evening in his bed.
Normally, Foster has every dog that comes to the house intimidated within minutes.
But he seems to like Kenny, so he gave the pup a free pass.
Kenny needed no lessons to figure out what to do with the wrapping paper once gifts were opened.
Some things just come naturally for dogs, and paper seems to be a common denominator.
D'ya spose that's why we hear the age-old excuse for missing assignments---the dog ate it?
Our little pre-Christmas party followed a very cold day, where dogs were once again happy to spend most of their time in the warm house.
Yesterday, I had to get a new bucket for CB's water, since the other was about half full of well-developed ice.
This morning, the new bucket came to the house where I set it next to the heater so its ice supply can melt.
We should be okay with the water situation after today because my phone tells me we'll reach a "balmy" 18 degrees by tonight.
Twenty degrees in the morning.
So, the Arctic freeze has pretty much left its mark here before heading on across the United States.
Happily, so far, no dire consequences from its effects.
We do have snow falling again. For some crazy reason, I thought we were done with new snow for a few days.
Must have been wishful thinking.
Well, the beat goes on, and it's pretty focused on Christmas and surviving the weather.
I have just a few items left to do besides the normal, and when all is in order, I think some Hallmark movies might just fill some time during the day.
Happy Friday.
