Post-Storm Serenity

Four snow blowings.

Three plowings (one yet to be completed)

One stiff knee from too much shoveling

Dryer cycles for wet gloves, jackets and pants.

Dogs lounging in total bliss inside the house

and, finally, this morning

All is calm and bright here at the Lovestead

'till the next time.

Bill said this morning that we're learning our tolerance.

I asked last night, "How long are we gonna keep on doing this?"

That question came up while we were braving the roads and heading to the Blue Heron for a bite to eat.

Of course, there's never an answer to that question.

Gosh, it felt good to sit inside that restaurant, relax, enjoy a good meal and admire its magnificent Christmas tree which is lit up with interchanging colors of twinkle lights and adorned with nostalgic ornaments.

Twas a good ending to a wearisome, work-filled day.

But once more, horses are eating their breakfast, dogs are doing more lounging in the living room and we humans are ready to face a day without trying to play catch-up.

And, yes, it's a gorgeous winter wonderland out there where it's filled with wonder and our brains are wondering if it's all worth the work.

For now, however, on this Sunday morning after the storm, I can soon forget the extra work (one more swipe down the lane with the plow) and the new aches and pains and concentrate on taking pretty pictures and working on Christmas projects.

The only down side of all this is that it's only Dec. 11, and winter is still 10 days away!

Seems like we've been there done that with all of the above many, many times before and we're still living and struggling here in beautiful North Idaho.

I guess we'll keep enjoying the snowy landscape cuz, Lord knows, we've earned it.

Happy Sunday.

😍⛄🎄💗💟
