We are not blue in the face.
Still, we talked almost that much.
We're saying our good bye's and hitting the roads headed home.
It's been a phenomenal and meaningful and fun visit.
I did hear talk of "if we do this again," laced with suggestions of a destination with no snow.
Who knows if that will happen.
All we know is that we enjoy each other, and we loved the constant progression of one story leading to another.
Time has changed on the clock and times have definitely changed in all our lives.
I mused last evening as we sat around the table, tucking in those last stories before heading to bed for a short night's sleep, that this was like the good ol' days of good conversation.
The difference: a bunch of cell phones at a hand's reach, adding quick support to the conversation.
"Who was that actress?"
No need to stew on it; just push a few buttons on your cell phone, and you've got the answer.
Kind of a handy and helpful resource to add to the occasional short-term memory losses of our "golden ages."
We all agreed that we love our cell phones and only allowed the technology to enhance our conversations.
And, so it ends---beautifully.
I'm sure there will be debriefings aplenty over the next few days.
Wishing Susie and Marv safe travels as they head back to Colorado in their blue Subaru Outback.
Meanwhile, in the green Subaru Outback, the stories will be flying along with the miles as we look forward to returning home to North Idaho and our beloveds.
Happy Sunday.
Marv is a Vietnam Army veteran. Thank you for your service, Marv, and especially your rich and colorful stories of life around Telluride. Great meeting you. |
