It's kinda gray out on this last morning of March, but it still seems to be going out like a lamb.
We certainly got the "lion's" share of winter during this month.
So, today's gray, somewhat quiet ending will do.
After all, the next snow is predicted for tomorrow, April Fool's Day.
Maybe that weather prediction is a big joke.
That would be nice.
I wouldn't mind being "fooled" with a day filled with sunshine.
Anywho, March is ending as is the Idaho State Legislature.
Lots of strange things happened in those chambers this year, but as my niece said, "sanity prevails," with a few of the votes.
Happily, the citizens still have their initiative power, and public schools will get to utilize the funds allocated to them.
I admit that I'm a broken record in touting the vision and dedication of our Sandpoint High graduate Luke Mayville.
As a dedicated and visionary advocate, he has kept the pedal to the metal throughout the Legislative session in rousing up statewide support for our public schools and our Initiative powers.
Nothing less than amazing, considering some of the other ideologically-based bills that passed during this Legislative session.
Today I'm including the note Luke sent out to members of Reclaim Idaho yesterday.
Thank you to Luke, the Reclaim Idaho volunteers and to all the reasonable and rational minds in the Idaho Legislature and who worked so hard for both our citizens and our public school students.
Two great victories.
And, as Luke stated in a note to me overnight, "Let's see if we can keep up this winning streak and make some more good things happen!
Idaho is so fortunate to have Luke Mayville.
Can we clone him???
Even if you are not a member of Reclaim Idaho, feel free to donate to the cause.
They are doing good and important work for the people of Idaho.

This end of March also marks the beginning of Spring Break for students and teachers.
Wishing everyone safe travels and sunshine.
Happy Friday.
Dear Supporters of Reclaim Idaho,
Moments ago, the Idaho House of Representatives failed to achieve a two-thirds majority in favor of the Silence the Voters Amendment (SJR 101)--the constitutional amendment that would make it nearly impossible to put citizen initiatives on the ballot.
SJR 101 is dead!!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to each and every one of you who raised your voice in opposition to this amendment. A special thank you to every legislator--Democrat and Republican--who took a stand for our rights today, and a big thanks also to all of the organizations and advocates who worked hard to defeat this bill.
In all honesty, most of us believed it would be a long shot to defeat this amendment on the House floor. But we tried anyway. We left it all on the field, and we pulled off a massive upset.
Over a century ago, a populist movement swept the country and established the rights of initiative and referendum in Idaho and in states across the country. It's important to recognize that today there is an anti-populist, anti-citizen agenda, advanced by national special interest groups, attempting to eliminate those same rights. In Arkansas, Ohio, and elsewhere, initiative rights are being rolled back this very moment.
Here in Idaho, we are defending our rights. In the same way that the citizens of Idaho stood up against the school-voucher agenda and defended our public schools, we have now successfully beat back the attempt by special interests to take away our initiative rights.
