Life is Good

In these photos, taken by Debbie Love yesterday at the Nature Conservancy land north of Bonners Ferry, our little grand puppy Kenny exemplifies how we all feel when the sun comes out and snow has mostly melted in the spring.

Life begins anew, it seems, and energy soars.

We finished off the birthday weekend with some nice phone chats with Bill's sister Margaret and Annie, some more basketball viewing and a drive to Bonners Ferry where we met Willie and Debbie for Bill's birthday dinner.

Bonners Ferry almost always is ahead of us with spring weather.

Most of the hillsides are bare, and one can find some wonderful public access areas to walk----or run as Kenny and Joe did yesterday.

So, it's always fun to head up that way this time of year.

Here at the Lovestead, I detected a rather dramatic change this morning.

We lost a lot of snow yesterday, and with the overnight freeze, the ground was perfect for Bridie to enjoy her ball.

As it dries out, the doggies should enjoy a lot more playing time.

And, I'll be able to continue the process of tidying up the yard.

Pretty neat to see the post above on Facebook the other day.

Mark is a Sandpoint High graduate, a former student and one fine man. His wife Tammy Howell Perry grew up here too.

Congratulations, Mark.

Another Sandpoint High grad (Class of 2003) who  inspires.

Brandon Adam has continued to set an example of courage, making the most of life and moving forward after losing both legs in an IED explosion during the Iraq war.

from Brandon on his Facebook feed:

So today was a great day for my pursuit to represent my country once more. Since serving my country overseas to being wounded and now competing in sports from ski racing to now sled hockey.

I’ve been given the opportunity to dawn the red, white and blue once again. But not as a soldier but as a member of Team USA sled hockey. Today I was asked to come and compete at the World Championships in June.

To say I couldn’t be happier is a understatement. I want to thank my family for supporting me through this process. I want to thank my teammates along the way that challenged me in every way possible.

It’s a privilege and a honor to play for Team USA. This opportunity is years in the making and I’m ready to compete. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ₯…πŸ’πŸ™Œ

The clouds were gorgeous late yesterday afternoon after the last of the squalls had passed through the area.

And, those snow-capped mountains east of Bonners Ferry were stunning.

It's looking like a great Easter week ahead.  We've waited a long time for this, and we're ready to take it on.

Happy Monday.
