It's a "Love" basket.
Thanks to help from Dave Schuck, an employee at Daher, formerly known as Quest, Willie's hoop has been returned to its owner.
Dave was nice enough to take the time and effort to remove the hoop from the hay mow in the Daher-owned red barn where we used to live on Great Northern Road.
On the day that Willie's girls basketball team played for the Idaho State Championship, Dad Love sent Coach Love a photo of the hoop which helped start Willie's lifelong love of basketball.
Willie used the story of the hoop with his team and asked them to share their early basketball memories.
I think a tear or two may have been shed during that team gathering.
The hoop from Coach Love's yesteryear has now come full circle. I guess Willie will decide where it will hang next.
Anyway, those are the two birthday boys above. Willie celebrated his yesterday while Bill celebrates today as does his twin sister Margaret who lives in California.
So, Happy Birthday greetings go out this morning to the Love twins.
It's a beautiful day here in the neighborhood with the sun shining on mountains covered with a new layer of snow.
Twasn't a very nice day at all yesterday, but I found a perfect cure for the ugh weather blues.
As the very first customer for the 2023 season, I visited the greenhouses and admired this year's selection of vibrant colors inside those houses at The Flower Farm.
Forgetting the horrible weather outside came easy as I strolled down the aisles, taking in the brilliant beauty while snapping pictures.
Akasha from Flower Farm invited me to come in out of the slop and "smell the flowers."
What a treat it was to see the colorful results of all the work and nurturing that Flower Farm owners Pam and John have done over the winter!
Twas also a treat to pick out a few samples and bring them home for the birthday celebration.
For about half an hour I escaped the miserable weather outside. Throughout the rest of the day, it seemed like a blend of March Madness and April showers with wild squalls of snow or rain followed by a minute or two of sunshine.
I have to admit being pleased when I looked out the window in the afternoon and saw a dramatic appearance of green in the lawn which had been pasty yellow the day before.
So, maybe we've finally arrived at a faster track toward spring.
Til then, visiting places like The Flower Farm can do amazing things to improve the attitude.
Happy Sunday.
