Spring Was in the Air

So what if I planted my sweet peas yesterday!

Hopefully, they are hardy seeds.

The oak tree has lost almost all of its leaves, and, yet, on Paul Revere's Ride day, we have a snow storm.

It's not even light, fluffy snow.  It's wet and messy.

Oh well.  The old timers always like to remind us that we're living in North Idaho.

Never mind that I'm an old timer.  People who've lived here ten or twenty years still counsel me on what to expect from the weather here and to just settle down.

Actually, I'm not feeling too much emotion about today's snow cuz it will melt off (I think anyway), and it's actually a pretty contrast to the green grass.

My first daffodil has awakened almost full throttle this morning.  I have a feeling it may want to go back to sleep.

And, the robins seem a bit curious about what the heck is going on.

I have yet to hear from the goose couple who usually fly in and touch down in the lane while I'm doing chores.

They may have taken the day off.

Yesterday was a pretty day, and we were enjoying  great expanses of dry ground.

I took the dogs to the hay field where they could romp to their heart's content.  Not much romping, though, cuz Liam found a piece of wood.

After a round around the field, he just plopped down and started chewing on his discovery.

Then, Bridie plopped down and began her watch on Liam. Bridie gets focused and stays that way with Liam.

So, they didn't run around too much, but Bill and I enjoyed standing out in the field and taking in the pleasantries of a very pleasant day.

He later took Annie to the airport.  By the time we see her again, she will have visited Portland and then Los Angeles and then Mexico and then Spain where she'll spend ten or so days walking her Camino.

We enjoyed a nice visit, and when it was ending, Foster went through his usual "withdrawal-from-Annie" pout.

Even without his sight, he knows the drill when that backpack comes down the stairs.

Annie tells him she has to leave, and then he walks off like a kid who's been sent to his room.

Once Annie's out the door, I have a new best friend. Happens every time with Annie's visits.

Within minutes of Bill and Annie's departure, I looked out the window to see the first three deer of the year.

They were grazing in the hay field, and they wasted no time exiting once they saw me coming with my camera.

Since I have no flowers to eat, besides the daffodils, I don't mind seeing the first deer of the year.

That will surely change when I find pansies ripped from their ground or the tops of flowers missing.

In other news, Tony, the wizard, is coming to maintain lawnmowers and the tractor this week. We may have to add the snow blower to his list.

By the time he has finished his work, I'm guessing and hoping that it will be time to mow some grass if it's not covered with snow.

No complaining here, just reporting it as I see it.

And, that's enough reporting. Gotta go out and make like a snow angel. 😁😁

Happy Tuesday.

Now I wouldn't mind having these seat mates on a flight.
