Raindrops Arrive, Yay.

It's great growing weather out there this morning.

With a significant rainstorm and warm temperatures, I'm betting that even watching grass grow might be somewhat entertaining.

We needed the rain, and from what I see, we may have more before the day ends.

It will be a nice change from the hot, hot days, which are very unusual for North Idaho in early June.

Having corn calf-high early June is pretty unusual too.  I have a feeling it may be more than knee high by the Fourth of July.

Whatever the case, I'm loving the garden progress.

Not much else to report this morning.  Am going to lunch with some loooooong time friends today.

One asked if we should bring sleeping bags since we may have a few things to talk about.

Imagine a slumber party with a bunch of "golden girls."

Since I don't have a personal sleeping bag, I may have to cut out early.

I have included a couple of links to stories worth reading.

Happy Friday.

An important read from this morning's paper for anyone who cares about our area public education and students and staff.

My friend Nancy Renk is an amazing historian and a great writer.  We are lucky to have her in our community for a variety of reasons.

Her careful research and preparation have led to an interesting article about Lake Pend Oreille serving as a "bombing" site in the early 1950s.

Lots of public and Federal entities got into the mix. Read the story and see what happened.
